Hello! My name is Kristen Niewiera, and I am a person in long-term recovery and the founder of A New Era Sober Living LLC.After struggling with addiction for many years, I spent much of my life cycling through detox programs, treatment centers, jails, and institutions. I was born in Massachusetts, lived most of my adult life in North Carolina, and eventually began my recovery journey in California.For years, I completed treatment only to return to the same environment—and eventually relapse. Everything changed when I was introduced to a more complete approach to recovery that included transitioning into a sober living home after detox and inpatient treatment.Sober living gave me the time, structure, support, and stability I needed to rebuild my life. I was able to work, regain confidence in myself, strengthen my sobriety, and learn how to live independently while surrounded by supportive peers and house managers who understood the recovery journey.That experience inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others find lasting recovery. I founded A New Era Sober Living because I believe no one should have to navigate the transition back into everyday life alone.Sober living was a game-changer for me, and I have seen it transform the lives of many others. I truly believe a safe, supportive living environment can be one of the most important pieces of a successful recovery journey.
